Days of Tribulation

Recently, I came across some videos speaking of the years of prosperity and years of tribulation. Though not quite a prophecy forecasted by biblical verse, this idea stems from Genesis 41 where Joseph interprets the pharaoh's dream stating that Egypt would have 7 years of plenty followed by 7 years of famine. Every interpretation I have heard regarding these prophecies speaks of wealth, food, and survival. But, what if our interpretation is off?

I woke up the other night from a dream revealing a different perspective that had me feeling a little awed and discombobulated all at once. What I was shown was that the years of "plenty" referred to that which we build up within ourselves. This can be anything - wealth, righteousness, faith, sin, hate, love, etc. In a sense, we are hoarding up things within, depending on our beliefs, motives, and desires. The years of being in "famine" then refer to those things we've been storing up being called to account. All will be exposed, put on trial, and weighed. The fullness of the expression of that which we have been reaping will be bestowed upon us.

So, what have you been building up? Most of us, if not all of us, aren't fully cognizant of what that is. Our beliefs and ideas of selfhood don't usually align with the actuality found in our acts. If you haven't begun to truly pay attention, start now and ask, do your beliefs align with your actions? Do you have absolute faith in God yet worry about paying the bills? Do you believe you have self-sovereignty and freedom yet serve others by building their dreams but not your own? Do you pay attention to the discrepancies of this world versus God's laws? Nothing is as it seems when it comes to society or our actions in contrast to our words when we're unconscious, unenlightened individuals. We will be called to account and blissful ignorance will not save us.
