For me, I knew freedom was high on the list yet I hadn't realized how much until the last few years when put through the wringer by God. My spiritual wayfaring has centered specifically around the finding of that freedom. For most of my life, I felt confined, without air, smothered, watched, and owned. Yes, owned. In the New Testament (Mark 5:21-43 & Luke 8:40-56), there's a seemingly simple story concerning a girl who has died and a woman who touched Jesus' robe for healing. On the surface, it's about receiving miraculous healing by having faith in Jesus. But, as I was reading this passage today, I realized some details in it that offer a more profound deliverance, for me at least.  The woman has been afflicted with an unending menstruation for twelve years at this point. Twelve years of being a woman of child-bearing age yet without the ability to conceive due to this abhorrence. On the other hand, we have a girl dying in the intro and dead upon arrival that happens to be twelve years of age. Dead when the woman's menses stopped.  What I realized about this story is that it's not just about two females but one.   Did you ever think about who the storyteller of your life is? Like most, if not all, of you, I have only ever thought about one narrator for my life, which is me (my egoic "I"), but what if we're not the actual storytellers? In one of the first season episodes of Candace Cameron Bure's podcast , the guest host, Tara-Leigh Cobble, stated that the Bible was God trying to tell us who He is. So, when we read the Bible, we shouldn't look for the "me" in it or the stories or inspiration for solving our dilemmas in life, but instead, look to see how God is the story. We are his story to tell. Imagine changing our script from "How do I...?" to "Let God do..."  This morning, I had a dream. As the observer, I watched a man shift from one life to another.   I've never excelled at styling my hair. For most of my life, I left it long and hanging in whatever state it happened to be. There were a few times I had it cut short which required more styling finesse than I have been want to give. Only a handful of years was I willing to use styling products, and, for about ten years, I insisted on dyeing my hair, partly due to it graying and a few times for fun.  Generally, hair, as both secular and religious history calls it, is a woman's "crowning glory." I'm not sure what led me to my search, but I became interested in hair coverings for women according to the Bible. Why have so many religions or denominations required a head covering for women?   For most of our lives, we rarely wonder how language was formed. It's not until someone comes along and starts playing with word choices, phrases, or phonemic sounds that we begin to understand the strategic game that is language. For example, the word "syntax." As I was writing my page on Transmutation Mythology , I incorporated a phrase I'd never heard of before: Sin Tax. I'm sure you can easily see what led me to "syntax." But, do the two correlate? When I wrote of the "sin tax" I referred to the  sin offering  of the Old Testament. As a redemptive confession, the sacrifice here was meant to purify us of any transgressions. A payment for our sin. A tax, by definition, lays a burden upon and accuses all at once. It asks, "How much do you want to be worth?"   I learned something today. Well... maybe I should say, a truth was spoken to me today. Did you know God is a perfectionist? Huh. When we look out into the world, we find chaos, mess, ridiculousness, inconstancy, lies, and darkness many, if not most, days. In short, a facade. A deception. But, what lies beneath? God does. He and I have been working on an art piece using watercolor pencils. And, yes, I'm only the vessel in all this. My hand moves on his desire, chooses the color of his desire, and becomes more firm or soft according to his desire. My consciousness moves over to allow Spirit to flow through me. Thoughts may still flow through my mind but I have no idea, for the most part, what happens from moment to moment in regard to the flow of movement. We've all heard of astrology influencing the character. Perhaps, many of us also know Myers-Briggs or even the Enneagram. But, if you're anything like me, you've either never heard or just come into awareness of Human Design. Somehow I came across it over a year ago and the more I delve into it, the more a rabbit hole it becomes. Someone recently (on a Reddit post) stated that it's a theory, not science, which might be the best way of looking at it. It's a very good theory though, perhaps rather genius. On the surface, it's like our introduction to astrology - rather generalized for the masses and can work across the board depending on how we're feeling that day or how we're choosing to identify. Recently, I came across some videos speaking of the years of prosperity and years of tribulation. Though not quite a prophecy forecasted by biblical verse, this idea stems from Genesis 41 where Joseph interprets the pharaoh's dream stating that Egypt would have 7 years of plenty followed by 7 years of famine. Every interpretation I have heard regarding these prophecies speaks of wealth, food, and survival. But, what if our interpretation is off? I woke up the other night from a dream revealing a different perspective that had me feeling a little awed and discombobulated all at once.  What I was shown was that the years of "plenty" referred to that which we build up within ourselves. This can be anything - wealth, righteousness, faith, sin, hate, love, etc. In a sense, we are hoarding up things within, depending on our beliefs, motives, and desires. I was told a couple of nights ago that I would be asked to testify for the Lord the next day but the next day came and I didn't leave the house. I was completely anti-social that day. But, that night, I had a dream... I won't go into the length and breadth of the dream but I did testify for the Lord in such a random and quirky way that intriguingly tied yams to Popeye to the Almighty. Yep. You read that right.  As I stepped into this backroom of a house, there lay dozens of boxes filled with potatoes and yams (aka sweet potatoes). I asked the women congregated throughout the room if they knew how yams remind us of the Lord. In the old cartoon and movie (with Robin Williams), Popeye declares, quite frequently, "I yam what I yam." Now, anyone with any sense of biblical studies will know that the Lord tells Moses at one point "I am that I am."   Have you ever noticed the differences in people's notions of an apology? Over the course of my lifetime, I have had the unfortunate experience of an "apology" that not only demands my forgiveness but places blame on me. Do you know what I mean? My mother's concept of an apology consisted of saying "I'm sorry you feel that way." I received an "apology recently that stated, "You took it the wrong way." No, honey, I did not - not when you add in the details or the past things that you've said... The Art of the Apology requires the person apologizing to ask for forgiveness in order to atone for sins, hurts, and pain caused. Not the other way around. Biblically speaking, God required three specific offerings before inviting Him into sacred space. These are the burnt, sin, and guilt offerings. I'm so excited! As of December 3, 2022, I have released a book that I, technically, started in 2016. Since then, it has morphed beyond anything I could have imagined. Everything that I wanted for this site can be encapsulated in the book, Unearthing the Sacred :proposed hypothesis for the ascendancy of the human species from a perspective of the i. The premise can be summed up by a three-fold foundation: Become, self-sovereignty, and creative spiritual exploration. First (as will be examined in the book) Become refers to stepping onto our God-path that our original soul blueprint specified for us in this lifetime. This is spiritual transcendency, not our societal understanding of purpose. Our purpose as a soul doesn't fall under the same guidelines. Self-sovereignty exemplifies the path of God. I wanted to tell someone about this lovely dream I had last night. On the surface, it seems rather mundane, but, as many of us know, dreams are riddled with symbolism. The dream consisted of several scenes. The first one, I remember calling for a ride from the driver of a school bus. She had previously given me rides before and had insisted that anytime I needed, to call her. For some reason, I wasn't at home but was being driven home and ended up meeting the school bus a block after she had passed my home. Ever kind and gracious, she opens the doors to tell me to hop on. Instead of being gracious in return, however, I felt guilt and decided to apologize several times and be overly exuberant in my gratitude, which was just annoying even to me. Now, in this first scene, I am being given a gift of faith, support, and acceptance.
